WELCOME THE DISCOURSE by Dr. Godfrey Vincent

posted 11 Jul 2013, 19:54 by Gerry Kangalee
It is heartening to see comrades having a discourse on the trade union movement and its position vis-à-vis the two political parties. I am of the view that Gerry Kangalee wrote his piece not so much as to criticize the leadership of the JTUM but to begin a discourse as to the independence of the movement.

This discourse needs to take place because it will help to rekindle interest in the movement. Moreover, contrary to Vincent Cabrera, I am of the view that MSJ’s role in the PP government should be placed in the historical archive. It was never discussed and there should be a discussion within and without the movement.

The MSJ can’t just absolve itself from participating in a government that has proven to be anti-working class. This matter is not over because if we don’t learn from history we will definitely repeat the mistakes of the past.
