posted 14 Mar 2012, 17:16 by Gerry Kangalee
A delegation of officers from the National Workers Union (NWU) paid a courtesy call on the Cuban Embassy on Tuesday 6th march 2012. The delegation was led by NWU president Comrade Frank Sears. Other officers were Comrades Cecil Paul, Sylvestre McLaren and Rae Samuel.

The Cuban embassy was represented by Ambassador His Excellency Mr. Humberto Rivero Rosario and Minister Counsellor Ana Silvia Rodriguez Abascal.

The parties decided to establish a working relationship and to exchange information on trade union matters, sports and Arts and Cultural Affairs including the Steelband.

It should be noted that since the Cuban revolution in 1959, many trade unions in Trinidad and Tobago have established and maintained working relationships with the Cuban trade unions and Cuba’s Ambassadors to this country.
