MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS by Rafael Fyzabad

A famous German philosopher said that history repeats itself, first as tragedy then as farce.

If he was on the ground today in T&T after the recent Section 34 con game pulled by the Ram/Jack/Kamla cabal he would have added "tragic" before farce to describe what we are witnessing in front the Prime Minister’s office.

Once again the arrogant, disrespectful and corrupt cabal of political snake oil salespersons, prostitutes and pimps are pissing on the people's leg and telling them that it’s raining.

Already soiled and disgraced themselves, even before they captured office, they have not hesitated to complete the subversion and corruption of every single institution of government, including the Office of President.

The greed, selfishness and narrow petit bourgeois vision of the Kamla cabal have driven them to set a new low as the most venal, feckless, divisive and chauvinist regime in our post Independence history. They are so dishonourable and lacking in credibility that their fellow anti-PNM protester Wayne Kublalsingh now cannot even trust them to keep their word to him and the Highway Re-Route movement even if just out of common courtesy.

So the people of T&T must now ignore the spin and 'eat ah food' statements of support for Kamla from the bottom feeding brigade of government ministers and party sycophants (forget the CEPEP workers they must follow orders or be sacked).

They must tell Kamla we not against a new highway to Point Fortin but Kamla and the PP must answer some important questions:
  • Why a road to connect San Fernando to Point Fortin must have a separate branch starting in Debe at a cost of $5 billion?
  • Why must 2/3 of it cross the Oropouche Wetlands - 2/3 of $5b to whose benefit?
  • Where is the Hydrological Study? Where is the Cost/Benefit Analysis for this segment?
  • Where is the Social Impact Study?
  • Why was the IADB loan process with its transparency and procurement procedures rejected in funding the project?
  • Why is Jack still a decider of what happens even though he is no longer Minister of Works?
  • Why is the UWI Principal declaring support for the project? Will he gain personally? Is he afraid the new Debe Campus will be stopped if he doesn't support? Can UWI still be part of any independent scientific review? Why his attempt to distance Kublalsingh from the university?
  • Why is PP afraid of scrutiny by a public, independent technical review of the project?
The desperation to build the Debe to Mon Desir segment seems to be based on the need to create conditions for the cabal and their political investors who own or bought out lands and businesses in the new UWI campus area to make obscene profits as they build malls, housing for staff and students, supply road and flyover building materials, rent transport equipment, supply fuel, etc.

Do Kamla and company not realise that their disgraceful hubris-filled performance in Debe’s Monday Night Forum revealed for all to see their authoritarian, indeed fascist tendencies, which have the potential to put a political sheen on the chaos and violence that already besets this country? Do they believe serving the needs of the kleptocratic contractocracy is worth the risk?

The US Federal Judge who jailed the bandit CEO and Chairman of Enron said on sentencing them that the best way to protect the public and strongest antidote to corruption is the scrutiny of day light.

LET DAYLIGHT SHINE ON THE DEBE TO MON DESIR HIGHWAY AND TELL THE PUBLIC WHO IS BENEFITTING FROM THIS PROJECT? NAME NAMES AND POINT FINGERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH SCIENTIFIC FACTS!
