Comrade James Norea died on Wednesday  November 14th 2012 at the San Fernando General Hospital. He was eighty seven years old.
Comrade Norea, along with the late Captain Clarence Blake an Nuevo diaz was responsible for bringing the Monthly Paid workers of Shell into the Oilfields Workers Trade Union in the early seventies.
He served as the President of the Point Fortin branch of the OIlfields Workers Trade Union and served two terms in the position of General Officer on the union's national executive during the nineteen eighties He also served as a Labour Relations Officer during that period.
