Canadian Postal Workers Send Support

posted 3 Oct 2009, 15:47 by National Workers Union   [ updated 3 Oct 2009, 16:19 ]
On behalf of the 56,000 members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, I am sending you greetings of support and solidarity.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers believes that international solidarity between workers and their organizations around the world is essential to oppose the suppression of democratic and trade union rights.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is condemning the actions of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, through the State Corporation of PTSC Public Transport Corporation and TSTT, the jointly owned with Cable and Wireless Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago, in their attempt to decertify the Communications Workers Union and Transport and Industrial Workers Union.

This is an unjust and repressive action. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers proudly stands in solidarity with UNI and the Trinidad and Tobago Communications Workers Union and the Trinidad and Tobago Transport and Industrial Workers Union.

An attack on workers anywhere is a cause for action everywhere.

In Solidarity

Denis Lemelin
National President
