TALENT EXPRESSION PRELIMS KICK OFF ON OCTOBER 20TH

There was a record number of entrants for the auditions of the twelfth edition of the Talent Expression Competition organised by the Southern Marines Steel Orchestra.

Fifty five contestants have been given the nod for the preliminary round of competition which takes place on Saturday 20th October 2012 at the Southern Marines Pan Palais, Southern Main Road, Marabella beginning at 7:00 pm. A token fee of $25.00 will be charged at the door. It's a steal of a deal! Real value for money.

The draw for order of appearance was made on Saturday 13th October and the serious business of the Talent Expression Competition is underway.

This year there is an influx of fresh, young talent eager to utilise the opportunity to express themselves and put the Talent Expression veterans under pressure. Contestants range from magnificent vocalists, brilliant dancers, monologists, panists, drummers and poets.

The Semi Finals will take place on Saturday 3rd November and the Grand Final will be on Sunday November 19th.

There are over $36,000 in prizes at stake, with the winner of the Grand Final taking home $5,000 and all finalists qualifying for money prizes. In addition there are money prizes for the preliminary and semi-final rounds and a number of special prizes.

Winners of Talent Expression over the years include: Samantha Flores, Keisha Codrington, Junior “Wiggy” Hinds, Richard Bereaux, La Donna Rouse, Mark Eastman, Lucy Regis, Megan Waldron, Melissa Phillips, Denicia Smith and the duet of Nigel O’Connor/Khadijah Jeremiah.
