CPTU Final Grand Council Report

On October 11th 1991, the Council of Progressive Trade Unions (CPTU) held a Special Convention to dissolve itself in order to pave the way for the formation of a single trade union centre - the National Trade Union Centre (NATUC).

The Grand Council Report (see attachment below) to that convention contains very valuable information on, among other matters, the General Strike (Day of Resistance) of March 6th 1989; the operations of the Summit of People's Organisations (SOPO);the stuggle against the IMF's structural adjustment programme; the July 27th 1990 atempted coup and the struggle to form one trade union centre.
